Chile Escondida copper mine Union workers begin second day of strike|copper press fittings

 

 

San Diego, September 24, – in the world's largest copper mine owned by BHP Billiton Escondida copper mine workers planned a second day of strikes on Wednesday.
The mine said last week, trade unions called on workers to strike for better working conditions, health and safety.
Miners also staged a 24-hour strike on Monday.
Union Leader Patricio Tapia told reporters Wednesday: "on the first day, 99% 's Union workers participated in the strike. ”
Tapia said the unions would strike as a "warning" is not expected to have much of an effect on the yield.
BHP has not commented on the strike.
